Since the inaugural bulb planting in October 2022, SDR Park Alliance hosted three park events in the Spring of 2023.  Volunteers enjoyed the beauty of the blooming daffodils and tulips they had planted in the fall.  Volunteers picked up trash, planted ground cover, and mulched the gardens around Hester Street Playground.  We were bowled over by the enthusiasm - between 50 and 75 volunteers showed up to each event.  City children loved getting their hands dirty.  Young people who grew up in Chinatown showed up to give back to their community.  On Earth Day, Commissioner Anthony Perez dropped in to meet SDRPA volunteers.
